I just love conversations with Ron Kersic. Out of the blue he introduces wonderful terms like “Luxury Tokens”. It must be one of my favorites and comparing it with handbags… chefs-kiss. I just had to make this image to fit the meme.
Ron and I talk about luxury tokens in our podcast It’s Just A Model #016 – Tolerances. A podcast where we talk about topics that connects tech, design, societal and philosophical themes. We call it “the interstitium”, a reference to a wonderful and quite recent medical discovery.
Luxury tokens are AI ‘currency’ that you spend in high-end AI models. Spending luxury tokens result -presumably- in very nice, high fidelity and bespoke results, comparable to luxury goods.
It makes me smile every time I look at this bag, with little, gold AI model logo’s emblazoned on the leather. If not a meta-joke, surely a meme.
